Create Charts from Your AI Assistant
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-capable assistant to CleanChart. Paste messy data into your chat and get a publication-ready chart back — your assistant cleans the data, picks the config, and renders it for you.
How It Works
1. Hand over your data
Paste a table, CSV snippet, or numbers into the conversation and ask for a chart.
2. The assistant fixes it
CleanChart reports issues like mixed date formats in a machine-readable way, and your assistant corrects them automatically — no manual cleanup.
3. Chart in the chat
The rendered PNG appears directly in the conversation. Your data is processed in memory and never stored. Only if you ask for a download link is the chart image (never your data) kept for 24 hours, then deleted.
Connect Your Client
Server URL: https://www.cleanchart.app/api/mcp
Claude (claude.ai & Desktop)
Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the URL:
https://www.cleanchart.app/api/mcpClaude Code
One command in your terminal (the --header line is optional and only needed with an API key):
claude mcp add --transport http cleanchart https://www.cleanchart.app/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer cc_your_key_here"Cursor / VS Code
Add to your MCP settings (mcp.json); the headers line is optional and only needed with an API key:
{
"mcpServers": {
"cleanchart": {
"url": "https://www.cleanchart.app/api/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer cc_your_key_here" }
}
}
}Other MCP clients
Any client that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP) works — point it at:
https://www.cleanchart.app/api/mcpAvailable Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| list_chart_types | All 29 chart types with their default configurations |
| validate_chart_config | Check a chart config before rendering — instant feedback on what is missing |
| detect_data_issues | Find duplicates, missing values, mixed date formats, and type problems in your data |
| apply_data_fixes | Clean the data: deduplicate, standardize dates, fix types, fill gaps |
| generate_chart | Render the chart and get it back as a PNG image, right in the chat — optionally with a 24h download link |
| get_entitlements | Show your current tier (free, day pass, or subscription) |
| create_checkout | Get a payment link for a single clean chart, a 24h pass, or a subscription |
| claim_chart | Redeem a paid single-chart purchase — clean, full-resolution PNG in the chat |
Free to try — no account needed
Without an API key, charts use the free tier: watermarked, reduced resolution. For a one-off clean chart, ask your assistant to create a checkout — pay in the browser, and the clean chart arrives right in the chat.
See pricingAPI keys — clean charts by default
With a subscription or 24h pass, create an API key in your dashboard and add it to your client's MCP config as a header. Every chart is then watermark-free and full resolution.
- Header name:
Authorization— header value:Bearer cc_your_key_here(the word "Bearer", a space, then the key). - If your client offers a list of auth types, pick Bearer token and paste just the
cc_...key. Options likeapi_keyorX-API-Keywill not work — the server only reads the Authorization header. - In claude.ai / Claude Desktop, open the connector's advanced/authentication settings and add the key there (pick the Authorization / Bearer option). Also works in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and any client that lets you set request headers.
